Doctrinal statement

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the word of God and as such is inerrant, infallible, and given by inspiration of God, which the Lord has preserved for the Spanish-speaking world in the Reina Valera Gómez version.

Furthermore, we believe that the inerrant, infallible, and inspired word of God has been preserved for the English-speaking world in the King James version.

We believe that the Bible is the final authority on all matters of faith and practice.

We believe that any translation of the Bible should be based on the Masoretic Text for the Old Testament and on the Received Text for the New Testament and as such will correspond to the King James Bible in doctrine.

We oppose the corrupt Critical Texts and any translation of the Bible based on the Critical Texts.

God the Father

We believe that there is only one true God eternally existent in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh, born of a virgin, lived a perfect and sinless life, died for our sins, was buried, and three days later rose victoriously from the grave in a literal and glorified body.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells the believer and exists for the purpose of glorifying Jesus and convicting the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.

Furthermore, we believe that the Holy Spirit never contradicts the Word of God.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is offered by the grace of God and received by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not of works.

Eternal Security

We believe that the believer is saved once and for all by the grace of God.

Baptism

We believe that believer's baptism is a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that the correct way of baptism for the believer is by immersion.

We believe that baptism by immersion is the first step of faith in the life of the believer.

The Local Church

We believe in the independence and autonomy of the local Church and that it has God-given authority to govern itself in fulfilling its purpose of promoting the Word of God and evangelizing the world.

Evangelism

We believe that it is the responsibility of all Christians to obey the great commission which is to preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to every creature. Evangelism is the passion of the Reina Valera Gómez Bible Society.

Missionary Work

We believe in expanding missionary work throughout the world and through the local church so that everyone hears about the Lord Jesus Christ and His gospel.

The Rapture of the Church

We believe in the rapture of the church which will be pre-millennial, pre-trib, personal, and imminent.
