What To Do When Someone Claims That The RVG Has Problems In It

There is a lot of misinformation, and many false narratives, false rumors, and false accusations against the RVG. Whenever someone says that there are still Critical Text problems in our Bible, ask them to provide you examples. Many times they will not be able to because they are just repeating something they heard from someone else. Many times they have not really investigated the subject for themselves. If they do provide you with what they believe to be issues in the RVG, many times just a little bit of homework will prove the concerns to be irrelevant.
Whenever someone says that the RVG has bad Spanish or bad grammar, ask them for examples. Whenever they say the RVG was translated poorly, ask them to prove it.
If some do bring you examples, you can determine for yourself if they are valid. If you think they have a point, you can ask us about it and we'll investigate it. (Of course, I encourage you to do the homework and investigate it for yourself as well.) We have investigated many things people have brought to us over the years and most of the time they were irrelevant.
One time someone accused us making a mistake in the RVG. I asked the pastor to tell me what the mistake was. He told me that we translated "Holy Spirit" as "Fantasma Santa". But this was not a mistake that we made. It was a mistake made by another Bible translator of a different Spanish Bible. The RVG has never said "Fantasma Santa". This prompted me to write a short article to clear up this false rumor (which you can read here). Thankfully, once I informed the pastor of how he was confusing us for someone else, he wrote a public apology, which is honorable.
Some people, unfortunately, are not as honorable and will continue to spread misinformation no matter how much we try to explain and clarify things. They are blinded by pride and an agenda, therefore they are impossible to reason with.
Nevertheless, the best thing to do when people make claims against the RVG is insist that they prove their claims with specific examples. Either they will not be able to provide anything or what they provide will be proven to be something weak or irrelevant.
If someone was able to provide something that was legitimately worthy of consideration, Dr. Humberto Gomez and his collaborators have proven over and over again that they are willing to investigate it and even make the improvement if needed. This is called honesty.

We've done this for many years. We have seen lists people have made (some very long) of what they thought were problems in the RVG, and we have gone through ALL of them and carefully considered every observation. We will continue to do this once a new list is made.
God knows the sincerity of our hearts. We simply desire a 100% pure Spanish Bible by being 100% based upon the Received Texts and we contend that we have one in the RVG. If we do not, we challenge anyone to demonstrate it. Give us specific examples and we'll consider it.
